Commentary on RNC

Funny how the Romney supporters have become incredibly quiet after the RNC. I guess they don’t have much to comment on since the RNC didn’t invite George Bush or his cabinet, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Karl Rove… maybe it was because Bush inherited a $140 billion dollar surplus from Clinton, and gave back a 10 trillion, 600 billion deficit to Obama, for starters. But the recession is Obama’s fault, right!???
Ok, or maybe they’re quiet because Ryan lied about his facts in his speech and false assertions:

Like $716 billion dollars, funneled out of Medicare by President Obama when the $716 billion dollar reduction in payments, mostly to providers, the exact same amount Republicans also proposed to cut from Medicare, in their highly praised — What was the name? — Ryan budget?

or when he said: “Right there at that plant, candidate Obama said: “I believe that if our government is there to support you, this plant will be here for another hundred years.” That’s what he said in 2008. … That plant didn’t last another year. … The recovery that was promised is nowhere in sight.” Yeah, except that plant announced in June of 2008 that it would be stopping production because Bush closed it that year. Complete utter nonsense, and an outright lie.

Or maybe it was because Clint Eastwood made a fool of himself, and the RNC?

Or maybe it was because there was completely no mention of the war in Afghansitan, or our troops in relation to our foreign policy there. Zero. None. Zilch.

Maybe it was because Romney professes to be anti-abortion now when he used to be invested in a fetus disposal company.

Or that he already pissed off Russia, Iran, and China before he even accepted the nomination.

Or that Romney is the name that now comes up when you Google “Flip Flopper”.

Or that the other speeches that touched on Romney’s religious beliefs never mentioned God living on Planet Kolob, or that Jesus came down to the American West on a silver spaceship, or that family values include polygamy. Just that he was a “good Godly man”.

Or that flippant mentions of an energy policy means Fracking the USA, polluting water with billions of gallons of chemicals, encouraging moutain top removal and the continuation of King Coal, and the destruction of the EPA, or continuing the Cheney/Bush policy of drilling in the BLM public lands that you and I own, or that world military policy is more important than finding new technology to stop our dependence on fossil fuels. Or even that global warming is a hippie LSD influenced idea.

Maybe that’s why they’re all pretty quiet this week. Because the American people aren’t ready to bring back the Flying Monkey Right just yet.

Maybe it would be different if the two parties didn’t have to make each other evil. Maybe we should truly look at the issues without lies, and hail the good stuff as well as the bad.
