If you really want to see crazy people then read these quotes from environmentalist on the first Earth Day in 1970.

If that’s not the pot calling the kettle black.

If you really want to see crazy people then read these quotes from environmentalist on the first earth day in 1970. For those of you that are too young to remember in the early 70′s scientist and environmentalist were screaming that we were going into an ICE AGE.

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
• Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.”
• Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
• George Wald, Harvard Biologist

“Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.”
• Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

This one of my favorite quotes.
“Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….”

Ah, at least you specified your source for science. The internet. Good job. Unfortunately, your talking to educated people who don’t believe everything they read on the internet, and especially don’t frequent Fox News. It doesn’t matter what you say, Walt. Facts are facts.

You’re inference to these topics that were brought up are like saying “The doctor said he had two months to live, but he really had three whole years!”.

You see… you’re showing your inability to understand real science again, and believe the debunkers. Let’s talk about an ice age. The science behind an ice age (to be short here) is that there is global warming, which melts the glaciers, which desalinates the oceans, which stops the giant warming currents, which sends the Earth into an ice age. First comes global warming, and then an ice age. The earth is warming, and glaciers are melting. FACT. An Ice Age could be looming in the not too distant future. And levels of carbon dioxide throughout history go hand in hand with graphs of ice age history. Right now the carbon dioxide graph is off the charts compared to the history of the earth. This stuff isn’t up for debate among scientists, Walt. Just by people like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Really.

Keep it coming Walt, the readers are amused by your un-intentional willingness to group yourself in with the people in this video. “Crazy”. You show here that you’re just like them.

One last thing. Again, you don’t talk about the idiot concepts people here believe through listening to insane performers like Glenn Beck (the Fox News expert on Everything). You are, again, throwing up a smoke screen to divert peoples attention away from the issues brought up here. Good job, Walt! You are a product of the Fox News Generation!

And I’ve seen your comments to Bo Webb… you never comment on the fact that MTR is a plague on the earth itself. Just how much we need coal. You twist the words to make it seem like people who care about the environment are somehow un-American, un-educated, and useless hippies. So we can see through all that for who you are Walt. Keep up the comments. It’s great reading!

I especially like the list of “Media Morons” on the site you get your science from. But they forgot to list a few, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingram, Caitlan Flanagan, Sean Hannity, David Brooks, Bill O’Really, Paul Gigot, to name a few. Oh, I’m sorry, that wouldn’t jive with the Fox News list of un-credible journalists, now would it?

Comrade, I’m surprised that a person with your education would make such demeaning comments, to an article you apparently never read. If you had read my comments, you would have realized that your friendly administrator took it upon himself to add the last part of the caption. Those are the administrators words not mine. But let’s not let facts get in the way of a good rant.

The FACT is that Kenneth Watt, George Wald and Paul Ehrlich were leaders of the environmental movement that proclaimed the world was going into an ICE AGE. These were educated men such as youself, Wald was an Harvard biologist, Ehrlich was biologist from Standford and Watt was an Ecologist from UC Davis. This just shows you that even educated people can make bonehead statements like were going into an ice age or global warming is going raise the sea levels 20 feet, or surface mining is killing us.

Your science behind the ice age is comical. Being as educated as you are you do realize that temps. have been on the decline for about 10 years now don’t you. FYI the carbon dioxide levels have been much, much higher than they are today, don’t take my word for it do your own research. Here’s a hint it was prior to the industrial revolution.

Another Earth Day quote from 1970, “It is already to late to avoid mass stravation.” by Denis Hayes , chief organizer for Earth Day.

Remember the Fox New Motto, “We report you decide” and my favorite “The spin stops here”.

To the Administrator: If you are going to quote me then at least have the deceny to correctly quote me, and don’t add your ideas or thoughts to my comments.

  3. Admin says:

I apologize Walt, I will make sure to never change your words in any way again to infer what you are trying to say. Your words always “speak for themselves” right between the lines anyway. With all this talk of Fox News, I accidentally shrunk to their form of “journalism”. Putting words in someones mouth. I truly apologize.

  4. Walt says:

Didn’t you mean the likes of NPR or PBS?
