“Coal Funeral” to mark new era Thursday at Clifton church
A “Funeral for Old Power,” including coal, will be held during an event starting at 6 p.m. Thursday at Clifton Universalist Unitarian Church, 2231 Payne St.
The funeral is to declare “an End of an Era and the Birth of a Renewable Future,” according to information from the church and the sponsors, Jefferson County Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and KY Heartwood.
The event will start with a potluck meal, followed by a 7 p.m. presentation and the 7:45 p.m. funeral. The movie “Coal Country” will be shown at 8 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
